I just finished a tour of the school with the girl, Jubilation.  She's a little to bubbly for my taste.  Someone should take away her Red Bull.  *chuckles*  But I have to admit, it was a little refreshing to be around someone so... vivacious, for a little while.

Apparantly, I've arrived at a very interesting time.  Everyone's a mess, it seems.  According to Jubilee,

"We've got two really messed up couples, a girl who survived eight years in limbo, [and] a half dead hobo kid..."

Ugh.  Teenage hormones.  I thought I'd finally escaped them once Pietro finally got a little older.  *snorts*  Guess I was wrong.

The half dead hobo kid is obviously Pyro.  Serves him right for being stupid enough to leave in the first place.

*chuckles*  He and Pietro will have a fine row once they see each other.  If the boy survives that long, anyway.

At least I didn't run into the Wolverine again.  Note to self: avoid the, how did Jubilee put it?  Oh yes, avoid the "half man half animal with metal claws" at all costs.

*laughs*  On second thought, I think I'll let young Jubilation keep her Red Bull.  The last afternoon I can remember having this much fun was with Pietro, and I didn't even get to wear clothes.

Speaking of Pietro, I should call him and make sure the plan came off without a hitch.  If anything's happened to m-, I mean Rogue, I'll wring his neck.

Well, no I won't.  I'd miss him too much.  How did I come to care about that little...well, whatever he is.  I hate thinking that I could actually have serious feelings for someone else.

But there's something about him that keeps me coming back for more.

So I guess I've been elected deputy chef.  I asked Jubilee how I could help, and she asked if I could cook.  I told her that I could, and extremely well, to boot.  Apparently, I'll be cooking a lot of meals around here.

That

was too close.

(leans head back)

I have to work harder on disguising my scent.  I can't be discovered.  Not this soon!  I have to find the Professor.

*ragged breath*

Wolverine just left me in my new room.  He said I have the whole floor to myself.  I wonder what he meant by "mysterious circumstances"?  Doesn't matter.  I'll find out tomorrow.

(steps forward into room, dropping backpack onto floor)

The room isn't bad, especially compared with the places I'm used to staying.

Phoenix is back.  I could hear her in the room with the Wolverine before I knocked, but he didn't open the door far enough for me to see her.

Wonderful.  Now I have two psychics to contend with.  And Jean Grey is by far the more powerful of the two.

*sighs*  (rubs forehead)

I have to call Pietro.  Just to hear his voice...I hate to admit that he soothes me.

(pulls out cell phone and lays down on the bed, holding recorder next to cell phone)

"Hey, sexy."

(smiles)  *purrs* Hello, Pietro.

"Are you in?"

Yes; but the Wolverine is already suspicious.

"Oh, that whole sniffing thing, right?"

Yes, that whole sniffing thing.  Where are you?

"At the motel, waiting to go and meet her."

Where are you meeting?

"At the mall."

You have the device?

"Yes, baby, would you quit nagging me?  I can handle this.  I mean, if I can handle you, I think I can handle her."

Sorry.

*pause*

"Wow.  That was an apology.  Love's making you go soft, sweet cheeks."

(smile broadens)

It is not.  Hurry and get this taken care of, alright?

"Believe me, babe, nothing is gonna make me happier than getting you back in bed as fast as possible."

That's not nice.  I can hear you smirking.

"From three thousand miles away?  I bet even Wolverine can't do that."

*laughs*  I should go.

"Yeah, well, I'll see you in a few days, 'k?"

'K.  Good night.

"Think about the last time we were together."

*faint click of Pietro ending call*

(closes phone)

He would leave me with those thoughts.

(puts arm over eyes)

I'm never gonna pull this off.

So far, so good.  Rogue just left the mansion.

I know where she's going.

I sent her there.

I knew that letter would get her attention.

Pietro had better be on top of things back home.  I don't want to regret leaving him in charge of our operations.

But I'm forgetting how dependable he's become in the last two years, even though he's only nineteen.  He's a good soldier.

*chuckles*

A good lover too.

I've checked my appearance at least five times in my compact.  This shouldn't rattle me so badly.

Dark brown hair, almost black, long and scraggly.  I hate having to have messy hair.

A plain face.  Not unpleasant, but nothing at all memorable.

Just what I want.

Baggy clothes: a sweatshirt and jeans.  They make my now 5'2" frame appear larger.

My yellow eyes are now hazel.  I'd almost like the color.

If it weren't so human.

I've been working hard to erase my normal scent, so the Wolverine can't sense me.

And Xavier himself helped me create my mental walls.  Emma will be hard pressed to find anyone other than Becky Anne in my mind.

This is it then.  I'm infiltrating Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

*snorts*

Irony doesn't begin to cover it.

I'm still not sure this is a good idea. Or at least, not when compared to some of my other plans.

Everything has been set up perfectly.

But I still feel like something will go wrong.

Between Emma Frost and the Wolverine, it'll be like pulling eye teeth to stay undiscovered at the school.

But I don't see any other way.

At least I know they won't kill me.

Mercy has always been the X-Men's greatest weakness.
